EX MANIBUS
OCTUBRE-2005

Spray dorado aplicado con plantilla sobre pared.

Ex Manibus is part of a text –papyrus- founded in the Coliseum of Rome. It means something like « look : no hands ». It is refered to the slaves used by the Imperium to build all the beautiful cities and monuments thei did. No hands, blood from the colonies.
No far from here, from the Passage Souterrain, society also forgot about those who set up or died to bring up those mazing constructions like the Tour Eiffel, or the Palais de Tokyo or hte Trocadero. We can’t forget how our society enjoyed the Exposition Universal while the colonies were being raped.
Fernando speaks in his peaces about history, memory and power abuse. Remarking or reconstructing traces of human history, his intention is making questions o traying to help ourselves to understand recent history. And present times.
The piece is a gold grafitti spray on a stencil made by the artist and was placed two times in different locations inside and outside the Passage Souterrain.
